Captain America is a superhero character from Marvel Comics. He was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, and first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 in March 1941.
The character’s real name is Steve Rogers. He was a weak and frail young man who was rejected by the U.S. Army during World War II, but was given a chance to serve his country when he volunteered for a top-secret experiment that turned him into a super-soldier. With his newfound strength, agility, and heightened senses, Captain America became a symbol of American patriotism and fought against the Axis powers during the war.
