If you’re like me, and never buy original ink because it is just waaaaay too expensive, you might sometimes get this pop-up on your printer. I recently bought a new printer, the Epson WF-3820, it’s fantastic. But the Epson Genuine Ink Pop-Up is quite the annoyance and I am just not able to find a setting somewhere to turn it off. So I went to extremer measure, and just shut it down. Here’s how I did it:
First off, find the program called E_YARNXKE.EXE on your computer. Mine was located at C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3
Now, right click it to teach it a lesson! And go to properties (or eigenschappen if you own a Dutch windows) Click on the Security tab
After that, just check the Read and Read and Execute checkboxes and hit Apply
If Windows decides to ask you if you are sure and then again if you are really really sure, just say Yes!
You can now happily print forever without that darn Epson Genuine Ink pop-up ever to pop-up again.
